Folien aus Polystyrolsulfonsäure und ihren Salzen

Abstract
We describe a technique for the preparation of small quantities of polystyrene foil. A thickness of 5 μ and greater with well defined properties is obtained. Further the sulphonation of this foil to yield approximately 5 μ thick foils of polystyrenesulphonic acid and its salts is described. The course of the sulphonation is followed with IR-spectra. The IR-spectra are included and frequencies are assigned. With the help of IR-spectra these foils were used to investigate hydration effects. This is reported in the „Zeitschrift für Elektrochemie“.
