Abstract
The quasi‐TEM and full‐wave algorithms developed in this article enable us to deal with a coplanar transmission line including an arbitrary number of conductors and lossy magnetic and/or dielectric layers. The quasi‐TEM and the full‐wave approaches are compared in order to establish reliable criteria concerning the validity range of the quasi‐TEM analysis. The exact knowledge of this range permits us to study new MIC or MMIC configurations combining gyromagnetic, ferrimagnetic‐semiconductor, and dielectric layers by means of the simple quasi‐TEM model. Keywords
