Abstract
Helictic textures in garnet crystals indicate polymetamorphism in the Moines. An early garnet-grade metamorphism occurred during the interval between the first and second fold movements. A second garnet-grade metamorphism occurred during the second fold movement. Microfabrics of quartz inclusions within garnets are reported and are compared with the microfabrics of the matrices of the schists that contain the garnets. Keywords
