Abstract
Xanthine oxidase is an enzyme which is directly uricogenetic, as it catalyzes the aerobic dehydrogenation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and of xanthine to uric acid, these being the final steps in purine metabolism in man. In man, the enzyme is present mainly in the liver and in the jejunal mucosa. Keywords Uric Acid Xanthine Oxidase Purine Metabolism Xanthine Oxidase Activity Jejunal Mucosa These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves. Keywords
