Abstract
During the sprouting of potatoes pantothenic acid mobilizes in the growing sprout. Dilutions of this substance in concentrated form up to one part per billion have a striking effect on the growth of the liverwort Ricciocarpus natans. Preliminary exps. are mentioned in which pantothenic acid had a stimulating effect on the growth of alfalfa seedlings and excised corn roots. The existence of other nutrilites for green plants and the origin of pantothenic acid is discussed. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
