Abstract
The rate of contraction of the contractile vacuole was used as an indicator of water uptake by Paramecium caudatum. Water uptake by deciliated paramecia was found to be about half that of the controls. Normal rate returned with the regeneration of the cilia. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
