Abstract
A simple procedure is described for the calculation of the interactions between two atoms at intermediate separations and the spin-change cross-sections for collisions between pairs of atoms selected from hydrogen, lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium and caesium are calculated. Satisfactory agreement with the measured values is obtained. Keywords
