Abstract
Beta radiation from P32 permanently reduced the acidity of Heidenhain pouches in all 5 expt. dogs studied. Radiation was accomplished by placing inflated-floc covered balloons which had been dipped several times in P32-containing soln., dried, and covered with a condom, in pouches for 2-6 hrs. The weakly penetrating beta-particles do not penetrate gastric walls to act on adjacent radiation sensitive tissues, an advantage over X-rays or gamma rays. Keywords
