Abstract

Tissue hydration in the estuarine sand shrimp C. septemspinosa is correlated with nutritional conditions. Hydration levels of feeding shrimp remain normal. In starved shrimp or in those which do not ingest adequate amounts of food, hydration levels are high. Presumably, water replaces metabolized tissues.
