Abstract
The type specimens of Indonesian freshwater ostracods Cypris weberi, Cypris odiosa, Cyprinotus pyxidatus, and Cypris sarsi (Meniez, 1892) are reexamined. The first three species are reassigned as Strandesia weberi, Strandesia odiosa, and Hemicypris pyxidata. Lectotypes and paralectotypes are designated for these species. The type specimen lot of Cypris sarsi was found to contain two species: Cypretta globosa (Brady) 1886 and Cypretta cf. globula (Sars) 1889. The taxonomic problems are considered in detail. Additional descriptions, illustrations, and notes on distribution are provided. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
