Abstract
Callus bridges are formed across girdle wounds on ‘Cardinal’ grape vines within 16 days following girdling. Anatomical studies show that phloem connections are re-established across such wounds within a few days following bridging by callus pads. Callus development was always faster and more extensive from the upper than the lower edge of girdle wounds. Keywords
