Abstract
One approach to the problem of calculating electron-atom or ion-atom cross sections at intermediate energies has been the use of the second born approximation. The complexity of the resulting calculations has led to the introduction of the simplified second born approximation (Holt and Moiseiwitsch, 1968). Evidence on the accuracy of this approximation is presented. Keywords
