Abstract
Gerontologists in recent years have begun to champion sexual freedom among the elderly. Reflecting the general sexuality literature, many have come to see sexual activity as almost an “essential vitamin” for healthy aging. We may be more helpful to the elderly (and perhaps ourselves) if we take a more lighthearted view of sex. Popcorn, rather than essential vitamin, might be a better analogy for viewing sensuality in the later years. Keywords
