Abstract
A modification of Starzl and Gaertner''s technique for producing complete heart block in dogs has been studied. The modification involves the use of heat cautery of the His bundle as a substitute for the surgical sectioning method previously described. The heat cautery technique substantially reduced the need for repeated reentry of the atrium to produce block and also virtually eliminated the accidental production of septal defects. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
