Abstract
A patient with gonadal dysgenesis is described who developed Cushlng''s syndrome secondary to a thymoma producing ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone)-like activity. The biological activity of this substance was equivalent to 0.3 mU of ACTH/g of tissue. This is the first reported case of thymoma to our knowledge in which ACTH-like substance was extracted from the tumor. Clinical and postmortem findings, which included lymphoid thyroiditis and unexplained hemolytic anemia, are presented. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
