Abstract
Sir—Staples et al. [1] found no deleterious effect due to hepatitis C virus (HCV) coinfection on survival in a group of 350 HIV-infected (115 HCV-positive and 235 HCV-negative) patients whose HCV status had been determined for unspecified clinical indications. The patients were part of a cohort of >1800 patients followed at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, whose HCV antibody status was not uniformly ascertained. Keywords
