Abstract
This study investigates the fiscal impact of Hurricane Frederic on the city of Mobile, Alabama. The hurricane caused damages of about $1.6 billion in property and other losses in the state, led to an influx of $670 million in recovery funds, and resulted in a $2.5 million increase in municipal revenue for the next 12 months.
