Abstract
The band spectra attributed to the monoxides of ruthenium, rhodium, osmium, iridium, platinum, and rhenium were observed. A vibrational analysis of ruthenium monoxide and partial rotational analysis of the 0–0 band of ruthenium monoxide has been carried out. The band system has been tentatively attributed to a 3Σ+→X 3Σ+ electronic transition. The values of the vibrational constants are ω0′=878.1, ω0′x0′=22.4; ω0″=880.8 and ω0″x0″=13.1 cm−1. The values of the rotational constants are B0′=0.393 and B0″=0.422 cm−1, corresponding to internuclear distances r0′=1.76 Å and r0″=1.70 Å. The spectroscopic constants determined in this study were used to calculate the thermodynamic functions up to 3000°K.Keywords
