Abstract
One's ability to function visually is determined by many factors. A theoretical model is proposed that organizes these factors into a pliable three-dimensional structure composed of visual abilities, available resources and past experiences, and environmental cues. Professionals can use the model to postulate how to elicit visual behaviors or to maximize visual function in individuals with low vision. Keywords
