Metabolic channelling and control of the flux

Abstract
Metabolic control theory is extended to include channelled metabolism in general. A simple relationship between the flux control by the enzymes and the degree of metabolite channelling is derived. This relationship suggests experiments in which modulation of gene expression allows one to quantify channelling.Keywords
