Abstract
The University of Arizona Archaeological Field School has now completed three seasons’ work at the Grasshopper Ruin, a 14th century pueblo in east central Arizona. The teaching program stresses student participation in an ongoing research activity. Excavations thus far have uncovered 21 domestic rooms, a rectangular Great Kiva, 120 human burials and a number of masonry-lined pit ovens. Trash deposits have been tested as has a large central plaza which was entered through E> roofed corridor. Stylistic similarities in the ceramics suggest interaction with adjacent areas. Sampling problems and future research plans are discussed. Keywords
