Abstract
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the transitional state between normal cognitive aging and dementia,1-3 although various other terms have been proposed to describe this transitional state.4-9 Subjects with MCI constitute a high-risk group because they develop dementia at a rate of 10% to 15% per year compared with 1% to 2% per year in the general population.10
