Abstract
Phenylbutazone is a potent anti-inflammatory agent. It was effective in modifying or causing the resolution of superficial thrombophlebitis in the extremities of 132 patients in whom this condition had proven refractory or difficult to manage. The short course of treatment which proved necessary to accomplish this end, makes this drug a practical and relatively safe addition to the management of superficial vein inflammation. Keywords
