Rotation therapy using a novel high-gradient filter.

Abstract
A rotation therapy technique developed for irradiation of head and neck tumors produced a sharp dose gradient between the target volume and the organ at risk, the medulla spinalis. To produce this effect, a specially designed high-gradient filter was placed in the photon beam. Twenty-five patients were treated.
