Abstract
Cyclophosphaniide, urothane, azathlopurine Qmuran), and 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) were given lo guinea pigs for 5 consecutive days. On the 4th and 5th days and again 5 weeks later the animals were anflgenically stimulated with ovalbumin. Cyclophosphamide produced marked inhibition of primary antibody formation. Minimal inhibition occurred with azathiopurine and 5-FU; urelhane did not Inhibit antibody formation. On secondary stimulation, only the animals previously treated with cyclophosphamide showed consistent and marked inhibition of antibody production. The secondary response in the cyciophosphamide group was depressed even though no further cyclophosphamlde was given and despite some initial antibody production as a primary response.
