Abstract
Under the assumption of multistage carcinogenesis, a multiplicative carcinogenic effect would be produced by the action of different carcinogens in a mixture on different stages of the carcinogenic process. An additive effect would be produced by the effect of different carcinogens on the same stage. A mathematical argument for these hypotheses is presented here. Keywords
