On the inadequacy of white wheat flour and fish meal for prolonged growth of pigs and its amelioration with yeast or stout

Abstract
A mixture of 90% wheat flour and 10% white fish meal was not adequate for the growth of pigs. Two ounces of dried brewer''s yeast per day was sufficient to allow normal growth; 1/2-2 pints of stout per day per pig gave satisfactory results but less marked than dried yeast.
