Criminality in XYY and XXY Men

Abstract
The picture of the XXY''s that is evident is in most ways similar to that of the XYY''s. The XXY''s showed a somewhat elevated crime rate compared to the XY''s but below that of the XYY''s. The difference in crime rate between the XXY''s and XYY''s was not statistically significant. Though the XXY crime rate was slightly higher than that of the XY''s, the difference was not statistically significant and the elevation disappeared when background variables were controlled. The XXY''s were not significantly different from the XY''s in frequency of crimes of violence against other persons. The XXY evidence thus does not provide any more impressive support for the aggression hypothesis than the XYY evidence does.
