Abstract
Wiener apodization problem is discussed by considering the passivity of the optical system. The minimization of the second-order moment of the irradiance diffraction pattern under the prespecified Strehl definition is executed by the conjugate gradient method. The analytic representation of the pupil function to minimize the second-order moment when the Strehl definition is unspecified is also given. Keywords
