Abstract
Chronic idiopathic pericardial effusion is an unusual condition that causes severe congestive heart failure and may be an early stage in the development of constrictive pericarditis. A case is reported and some other cases from the literature are reviewed in order to present the clinical features and treatment of this condition. Keywords
