Abstract
Weanling mice were injected with gold thioglucose or bipiperidyl mustard which have been previously shown to cause obesity associated with ventromedial hypothalamic damage. There was an increase in both adipocyte number and size compared to controls. Several models of obesity are compared and a possible role for the hypothalamus in the regulation of fat stores is discussed. Keywords
