Charge Transfer from Atomic Hydrogen toO+2andO+3Ions with Electronvolt Energy

Abstract
The reaction rate constants for charge transfer from atomic hydrogen to O+2 and O+3 ions have been measured at temperatures near 1.5×104 K by using a stored, multicharged ion gas interacting with a hydrogen atomic beam. The results are k(O+2, H)=1.4(0.6)×109 cm3/sec and k(O+3, H)=10.2(6)×109 cm3/sec in agreement with recent theory.
