Abstract
An unusual islet cell adenoma developed in one patient. It caused no symptoms of fasting hypoglycemia, but over a six-year period it had provoked progressively severe attacks of reactive hypoglycemia. Starvation of the patient for 72 hours neither provoked symptoms nor depressed his blood glucose level below 45 mg/100 cc yet he lost consciousness and convulsed from hypoglycemia during three glucose tolerance tests. His tumor produced thousands of microunits of insulin in response to glucose microunits lenge. Keywords
