Abstract
The infrared-absorption spectrum of the previously unobserved NeHF molecule has been predicted from an ab initio quantum-mechanical calculation and subsequently determined for the first time by direct measurement. The two procedures yield remarkable agreement in the positions, widths, and intensities of the infrared spectral lines. The calculations predict, and the experiments confirm, highly unusual vibrational dynamics. Keywords
