Abstract
Intermediate ion–neutral complexes arising when radical cations dissociate will be only moderately stabilized by polarization forces, inasmuch as the distance between the components of the complex cannot be less than the sum of their van der Waals radii; reactions via such complexes are primarily important for systems where the critical energy for simple cleavage is low. Keywords
