Abstract
THE behavior of infections due to Group A strcptococci that occurred in a group of Cleveland families is described in this paper. Many other studies have emphasized various aspects of the epidemiology of streptococcal infections as they occurred in military populations,1 , 2 hospital patients,3 outpatient groups,4 children,5 , 6 communities7 and patients seen in private practice.8 The present paper includes data regarding the frequency of acquisition of beta-hemolytic streptococci, the illnesses that occurred coincident with acquisitions and the factors influencing spread within families.MethodsThese observations were made as part of a long-term study of illness, the essential features of which have previously . . .Keywords
