Abstract
Trizygotic triplets are interpreted as double instances of dizygotic twinning; dizygotic triplets as the simultaneous occurrence of di- and monozygotic twinning. Occurrence of monozygotic triplets is regarded as related to but distinct from monozygotic twinning. The incidence of monozygotic triplets is considered to be independent of maternal age; those of tri- and dizygotic triplets, functions of maternal age. Analogies are applicable to quad-, quint- and sextuplet births but the slow rate of accumulation of data renders all but quadruplet studies improbable of achievement even with the patience of generations. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
