Abstract
This is a summary article of the literature on algae that have been reported as being purportedly toxic to humans, domestic animals and fish. To date the following algae, all blue-green, Cyanophyta, have been incriminated in causing illness or death in animals: Microcystis aeruginosa Microcystis toxica, M. flos-aquae Aphanizomenon flos-aquae Anabaena flos-aquae Coelosphaerium kuetzingianum, Coelosphaerium naegelianum, Gloeotrichia echinulata. and Nodularia spumigena.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
