Abstract
To determine whether the difference between good and poor coders of similar CA and IQ was accounted for by difficulty in discriminating between shapes, two Coding tasks were used. One task consisted only of symmetric shapes, the other of asymmetric shapes and their reversible images. The reversible shapes reduced output for all Ss but did not differentially affect the poor coders, who performed relatively poorly on both tasks. Keywords
