Enzymatische Hydrolyse des Keratins mit dem Kropfsafte des Astur palumbarius (Habicht) und Vultur monachus (Kuttengeier).

Abstract
The juice of the crops of these birds, obtained from the regurgitated feathers after feeding with various unplucked birds, acted hydrolytically on pure keratin. The action was enzymic because it had an optimum temp. and disap-peared after heating at 95[degree] for 1/2 hr. The crop juice of these birds of prey also set free amino acids from horny tissues in vitro but the keratin was hydrolyzed faster in the crops of the birds.
