Variational sticking-fraction calculations for the ground state of thetdμmolecular ion

Abstract
We have used variational wave functions for the ground state of the tdμ molecular ion to find the probability that after the t-d fusion the system will be in a state with the muon bound to the α particle. This probability, known as the sticking fraction, was found to be 0.8860×.
