Cancer Primitif Du Foie Et HypoglycÉmie

Abstract
We report a case of a primary carcinoma of the liver in a 27 years old male, where the injection of HI units Insulin resulted in a deep coma with hypoglycemia of 14 ctgr %c. Twenty four and fourty eight hours after the first hypoglycemic incident, the fasting blood-sugar has been found respectively 29 and 47 ctgr%c. Liver post-mortem examination : cirrhosis, hepatoma. This observation, together with similar cases reported in the literature, shows that liver hepatoma can be accompanied by hypoglycemia without any clinical manifestation. The attention is drown upon the great insulin sensitivity in these patients, even with very small doses of insulin.
