Abstract
A mass transfer correlation for particle wall losses by Brownian and turbulent diffusion in dilution chambers is presented that uses an effective Reynolds number for jet mixing. The validity of this correlation is investigated with experiments of NaCl aerosols (d p = 0.01–0.2 μ m) in spherical and cylindrical dilution chambers. The proposed correlation is also in good agreement with experimental and theoretical studies in the literature. Keywords
