Abstract
Paclobutrazol is a highly active plant growth regulator with very good fungicidal activity. Aspects of the synthesis of paclobutrazol and its diastereoisomer are discussed, the resolution of paclobutrazol into its two enantiomers is described. It has been shown for the first time that it is possible to separate the plant growth regulatory activity from the fungicidal activity by resolution. Computer graphic studies are also included.Keywords
