Abstract
Total elastic and total spin-exchange cross sections have been calculated numerically for low-energy electrons incident on rubidium atoms. The effects of electron exchange and of target distortion are treated through the use of the adiabatic exchange approximation and the method of polarized orbitals. Keywords
