Abstract
A patient with chronic prostatitis caused by Mycobacterium kansasii is reported, demonstrating that these organisms occasionally cause urinary tract infections. Criteria useful in evaluating the clinical significance of atypical mycobacteria isolated from the urine are suggested. Application of these criteria to 19 patients encountered in routine clinical practice demonstrates their usefulness. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
