Abstract
A relatively slight voltage pulse disturbance produces an acoustic wave in a CO2 dc discharge. The amplitude is so large that indirect indication by means of changed light intensity in the column is possible. An explanation of high efficiency of excitation is proposed in terms of dissociation of CO2 molecules. Keywords
