Abstract
Using a special multiple-phase-shift filter with a flat amplitude response, a rather strong sensation of pitch was evoked by dichotic presentation of white Gaussian noise. The existence of this pitch, which resembles a periodicity pitch, can be understood on the basis of the ’’central spectrum’’ model of pitch perception [Bilsen and Goldstein, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 55, 292–296 (1974)]. Subject Classification: [43]65.54, [43]65.62.Keywords
