DEVELOPMENT OF COLLATERAL VESSELS IN AN ACUTE OCCLUSION OF THE COMMON HEPATIC ARTERY

Abstract
An acute occlusion of the common hepatic artery by a subintimal injection of contrast medium has provided an opportunity to observe the immediate collateral blood flow to the liver. The vessels participating in the collateral supply were the dorsal pancreatic artery and its branches in the head of the pancreas, the pancreaticoduodenal arcades and the gastroduodenal artery.
