Abstract
Injection of rabbit or mouse plasma from animals immunized with small or large capsule strains of Cryptococcus neoformans failed to confer protection on mice infected with an ordinarily lethal cryptococcal inoculum. Pooled gamma globulin was equally ineffective. These studies suggest that immunity in cryptococcosis is related to “tissue-bound”, not to circulating antibody. Keywords
